It's very common to receive neighboring countries mobile signal when you actually located near the respective country border that you visit. As for me at Brunei, I actually manage to detect Maxis or Maxis 3G signals around the Sultan Brunei's 60th Birthday Monument. Not only Maxis yet Digi and Celcom signal can be detected which it's a great benefit for those who want to call back anyone with Malaysia local number.To do this, you have to set your phone to 'Manually' detect network. It will take a while or sometimes lucky enough to detect the signal immediately then select your respective Malaysia signal. Believe me, this works and the changes made is local call charges once you receive your phone bill.
