Microsoft Office 2007: Create Table of Content

I still remember the trouble I had to go through to finalize my project Table of Content as I truly did the old fashion way by inserting a table and type also refer each content page one by one. Therefore I decide to write out a small guide on creating Table of Content and easily update the Table of Content if there is any changes made on the content page.

First of all I startup with a sample document which place in the default heading set at Home Tab at Styles Section and assuming that there is content on the page. Basically I'm using the default Header Style set at Microsoft Office Word 2007 which I can set my header till four base on default style (On the screen only shown till Level 2).

Basically using the default Heading Style has already mapped out the required mapping needed to create the full listing Table of Contents. To insert Table of Contents, go to References Tab on Table of Contents Section. Click on Table of Contents button then select Insert Table of Contents... then pop up a form which shown below.

All the settings shown are by default except the 'Use Hyperlinks instead of page numbers' Checkbox have been unchecked base on my own preference. Click on OK button once done and the Table of Contents been created as shown below.

Just a few click and a proper selection of Style there you have a ready made Table of Contents and updates on the Table of Contents if there is any changes on the contents can be easily update by click on the Update Table on the top of the created Table of Contents.

Notice that the created Table of Contents show the first line or heading started with page two. This happen because the first page is the Table of Contents and to set the first page not counted in the page number is shown at the next image.

Start of with selecting the first page/ Table of Contents page, then go to Page Layout then on the botton right of the Page Setup Section there is a small clickable icon. Once clicked, the Page Setup form will appear and the only thing left to do is click 'Different First Page' Checkbox then OK button and it's done~!

Creating Table of Contents such way reduce the time needed to retype or change the Table of Contents again when changes in the content is done. This will ensure that the page numbering is accurate and easy finalizing the document Table of Contents.

Missing for 6 Month…

Somehow i can’t believe it that six month fly away just like that and the last time of me blogging was the time when i need to figure out how to start my DMP a.k.a. Double Module Project a.k.a. Dead Meat Project. Finally i’m done with the project development and just left four more days to complete my final exam then i can unofficially say i’m graduate as a college student.

Somehow i don’t feel like it’s the end but more like a beginning of life for me… It’s the time where much tougher challenge i would have to face so basically all i can say now is don’t give a shit and bring it on!’

Basically after four days i will be free for a while which it is the best time for me to settle down and seriously do what i wanted and if i got time then i will blog out some review which i got for the past six month as for these few days… Study….

258 DVD Full of Anime

image_127I not sure about other anime collector but for me this is surely a lot! Imagine 258 DVD full of anime in that box which has over one terabyte of anime video in it. Can’t believe that since the first day i had my broadband and downloaded my first anime few years back turn out to be like this hahaha…

I manage to create AniSphere v3.0 a small application that stores all the anime information and properly label and ID each DVD that has been stored in the box. So until now my anime collection still grows as thanks to those hardworking fansub member to translate all the wonderful anime to watch. If only I had the time to learn Japanese language then that would be really interesting as i really admire their culture. The only problem I have is the space to keep all the burned DVD and also sooner or later i would really need to spent hell a lot my money for 1 terabyte hard disk haha…

Project AniSphere v3.0

Project AniSphere v3.0 is a further enhancement from my previous developed application which its primary function is to stored information of my downloaded anime and keeping track of each title that still in progress.

Basically this application has been developed only for personal use but it would be interesting that there is someone interested to use the application I developed. So for now i will start off with the enhancement of AniSphere v2.0 to AniSphere v3.0 with the knowledge of programming that I acquired during completion of my final year project. I will write down more detail during my progress to complete this project.
